Life, Carefully Tended

Tended Life is a blog about the quiet art of living well — not in an aspirational, perfectly-curated sense, but in the practical, imperfect, actually-doable sense.

Why this blog exists

The name comes from gardening — specifically from the idea that a garden left to itself doesn't flourish. It requires attention, patience, and regular care. Not heroic effort, not constant intervention — just consistent, gentle tending.

A life is the same. Left entirely to default — to the algorithm's suggestion, the path of least resistance, the next notification — it can drift away from what actually matters to us. Tending it means pausing to look, to choose, to adjust.

This blog is the record of that tending: what we're trying, what's working, what fell flat, and what surprised us. The topics are the areas that feel most worth attending to — how we eat, how we move, how we travel, how we spend our attention, how we relate to the planet we live on.

You won't find a rigidly plant-based or zero-waste or social-media-free agenda here. You'll find honest accounts of trying to do better — at whatever pace makes sense for a real life.

What we believe

🌱

Intentionality over urgency

We choose slowly, act deliberately, and resist the pull of doing more just for the sake of it.

📖

Depth over breadth

One well-lived day beats ten hurried ones. One good book read slowly beats ten skimmed.

🌍

Sustainability as a practice

Not a rigid ideology, but a continuous, imperfect effort to make choices that last.

🤝

Honesty over aspiration

We write about what actually works — not the perfect version, the real one.

What we write about

Six areas of intentional living, explored honestly and practically.
